Lisa May Leads the Return of the Southern Alberta Mustangs

The Southern Alberta Mustangs are proud to introduce Lisa May as the Owner, Co-General Manager, and Athletic Trainer of our newly relaunched junior hockey program.

More than just a team, the Mustangs are being built as a symbol of community, opportunity, and heart — and Lisa’s leadership embodies that mission. With a professional background in the emergency medical field, social work, and addiction counseling, Lisa brings a unique and powerful perspective to the world of junior hockey.

Her passion for hockey and youth development has shaped the foundation of this team. In Lisa’s own words:

“When the CAJHL approached me about starting a team in Southern Alberta, it was a no-brainer. Hockey brings people together. It helps young athletes grow. I believe investing in junior hockey is investing in our youth — and in our country’s sport.”

The Mustangs are preparing for an exciting debut season in 2025–2026, and we are honoured to call Stavely, Alberta our home. With a renewed vision and unwavering dedication, we’re ready to build something truly special for Southern Alberta.
